The darkness folds around us
 cutting off all sight
The darkness closes in on us
 revealing our plight
The darkness engulfs my mind
 ruining all thought
The darkness prevents my mind
 from working as it ought

The darkness is absence
 is love torn away
My feelings are forgotten
 excised from my mind
I tore them away
 and left the scars behind
They took more with them
 they took some thoughts
My mind is clear
 I can concentrate not
They will return
 Those feelings to me
But I can not carry them
 Not now... not me...
